Art: Definitely at the heART of Tractor Brewing

GetPlowedBlog

Well hello there, Beer Farmers,

We hope you are heading into the holidays with a smile on your face, and a beer in your hand. We have had a wonderful 2014 so far, and are seeing it draw to a close. We are sort of sad to let it go. So many great things happened in regards to the Beer Farm in 2014. That just means, we have to make 2015 even better though, friends. We can’t do it without you; and, we certainly could not do it without the artists that are constantly at our locations doing what they do best: singing, painting, speaking, and creating ~ we do what we do, in part for you. Yes, we love to create and supply Burque’s Beer Farmers with tasty brews, but we also love to be a venue/hub for art and culture. We here at Tractor Brewing have beautiful facilities, that if they weren’t seen for the incredible places they are, from which to support and create art, we wouldn’t be doing our job as a business and part of this community! Thanks, artists, and art supporters for helping us to hold down that end of the deal, and we look forward to continuing to do so in 2015.

Speaking of ART in 2015 – we have a couple of awesome things coming up in January that deserve a little shout out and attention. You can read all about em’ here. We have a few cool things headed your way very quickly in the new year. Staying true to our community, cause oriented, art engaged model of business, Tractor Brewing Company is bringing you the Third Round, of Art Fight. An event organized by James Montoya, a talented and accomplished artist not only in New Mexico, but the Southwest. Art Fight Round 3 will be hosted by Tractor Brewing Company Wells Park, on January 10th starting at 7pm. Artists will pay $10 a piece to take part in the Art Fight; up to 12 artists will setup their easels and get to work. Over the course of 3 hours, the artists will start and finish a piece of visual art. Those that are buying beer will be given raffle tickets with each purchase, to drop into the artist’s cup whose painting they like the most. In the end, the artist with the most tickets wins the entry fees of all other participants. It is a winner takes all, eye-candy event that can’t be missed! They’ve gone well so far, and with a trip on over to Wells Park via another local brewery, we here at Tractor Wells Park are thankful to the organizer and participants for giving our brewery a spin at this wonderful art-minded event. Stick around after Art Fight and listen to Cloudface on the 1s and 2s, as Tractor transitions into its EVERY Saturday night, In The Mix, with LIVE DJs.

Next, on the art docket is Art Fusion For A Cause. This event was very well received in the months that it saw in our Wells Park tap room in 2014 – so we will be more than happy as we welcome it back with dates and more importantly beneficiaries for support into March of 2015. That’s right – Paws and Stripes, a local organization that places rescue dogs, to be trained as service dogs, for returning veterans, is the beneficiary for the NM Guild Of Ethical Tattooists, Art Fusion For a Cause LIVE art event, at Tractor Brewing Wells Park, for the month’s of January, February, AND March! This event is a collaborative art event hosted by the best tattoo artists in Albuquerque. Come out and watch 4 artists create one piece of art – 4 times over, in one round – then setup and do it all over again! It is an awesome event to try your hand at taking home some art at. Tickets for the drawing are only $5 and all proceeds will go to Paws and Stripes from the sale of tickets for the art drawing. Sound like fun? Tell us you will be here on January 14th by clicking the event link, and while you’re at it SHARE it if you don’t mind. HERE IS THE LINK

We head into the second half of January in large support of Tricklock Company’s – Revolutions International Theatre Festival. Look for us pouring beer at a number of events on their calendar for the 2015 festivities; and in fact, keep your eyes out for January 18th’s I’LL Drink To That, which has been officially added to Revolutions’ calendar of events. It’s gonna be a good year, Beer Farmers – cheers!
