Copper Canyon Pale Ale, brewed by La Reforma Brewery, benefits kids in need in the Copper Canyon region of Northern Mexico

750 miles south of Albuquerque and deep in the Sierra Madre mountains of Mexico, the towns of Creel and La Junta are a few miles apart on the approach to the famed Copper Canyon – a vast series of remote canyons that is larger than the Grand Canyon.  It is here that two orphanages, Aljaba Casa Hogar and Manos Carinosos, take in orphaned, abandoned, abused and desperately poor children, mostly of native Tarahumara Indian heritage.  The Tarahumara live in small ranches and communities throughout the remote Copper Canyon and are hit hard by poverty, drought and a myriad of social and economic problems.  

The orphanages provide a safe haven, nutritious food, loving caretakers and the opportunity to go to school for over 70 children who would otherwise have grim prospects.   For 14 years members of the Albuquerque and Santa Fe brewing communities have been making annual trips to Creel around the holidays delivering Christmas gifts, supplies, food and other necessities to the children.  We also hold food distributions for Tarahumara communities in need.

Proceeds from the sale of Copper Canyon Pale Ale go to into the fund that benefits the children at the orphanages and the Tarahumara communities.
